December 13 My previous home sweet homesTrying to retrace my roots, I made a little collection of all the places I've called home before. Ha ha, and to keep you guessing, my current home is not on the list of course! ;) Hopefully this works, and try to do the "Tour in 3d" (but you may have to install the 3D earth viewer). Too bad they didn't have very detailed satellite images of HK :( Live Search Maps December 12 Trying out the new Windows Live WriterHey, so far, this is pretty nifty! I got my Windows Live Writer from http://get.live.com/writer/overview and it's kind of cute to do blog publishing from my desktop. What does the Insert Map feature do... Cool! Well, there's a map of Hong Kong! Victoria Peak is a beautiful place to go for a visit. Now to see how publishing works... November 09 A month has gone by???Wow, it's been over a month since I've last posted...very lame on my part.
Faithful readers to this blog (yes all....uh...2 of you???) may have read about my posts in the past about indulging in my artistic side again. Well, I finally did it! I had enrolled at the Bellevue Community College ContEd Oil Painting class. There's now only two classes left, and I'm really enjoying it. To date, I have completed a still life with vases/pots, finishing up a clown still-life, and starting up new still life with plants and interesting objects. I'll post up some pics later :)
Previously, I've only worked with water colors, pastels, charcoal, colored pencils...never painted on a canvas before. I love the new freedoms that oil is allowing me to do. Plus, there's a Daniel Smith store really close by, and the staff is really cool there. I'll also be attending an oil painting work shop this Sunday. It will be interesting to get instructions from a different teacher to see all the different approaches. October 01 A really wierd bad dream...Last night, I dreamt that _M and I decided to go on a last minute trip to Maui. The wierd part is that once we got there, I realized that I didn't tell my lead at work that I'll be going on a trip, so I ended up having to work from Maui. In my dream, _M was busy as well and also had to work. It kinda sucked that we were in such a beautiful place but ended up having to work anyways.
Wierd huh? The odd part is that my lead at work is actually a really cool guy, and would have had no problem letting me go on a trip (and probably would have discouraged me from dialing in from work) |
